(www.wpl-legal.com) announce that Cathrine Hunter, an attorney with the Firm, has just been elected into the Workplace Health and Safety Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Florida Bar. The Firm has offices in Naples and Marco Island and has been assisting clients across Southwest Florida since 1971.
The Workplace Health and Safety Committee is a new addition to the Labor and Employment Section of the Florida Bar this year, welcoming members from various backgrounds and practices. The Labor and Employment Section of the Florida Bar has a mission to support its members through education, leadership opportunities, networking and public service. They provide quality programs, awards, publications and scholarships to its members.
Hunter speaks about being elected into this new committee and what she hopes for its future.
“Workplace health and safety is a critical matter and oftentimes, it is swept to the side. I am hopeful for this committee and what this impressive group of professionals is going to do to bring important issues to the surface in order to prevent health and safety issues from occurring,” she says.
Hunter graduated from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law with an L.L.M. in Taxation and from Stetson University College of Law with a J.D., and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2003. She focuses on employment law, estate planning, wills, trusts and healthcare. She is active in many areas of healthcare law, including HIPAA, the HITECH Act and the Omnibus Rule, and is a dedicated life-long resident of Naples.
